Assédio sexual na Rede Federal de Ensino: reflexão e conscientização

Abstract

Sexual harassment in the school environment is a behavior that can generate serious consequences, both psychological and pedagogical for the student, as well as legal and property for the teacher and the educational institution. At the Instituto Federal do Piauí, especially within the scope of the EPT, there were still no studies about the subject. Through this work, carried out at ProFEPT, the perception of teachers, managers, administrative technicians in education and students about sexual harassment, within the scope of the Instituto Federal do Piauí, was discovered, applying the results in the intervention of reality, through a educational product, consisting of a booklet. To this end, a qualitative, applied and descriptive research was carried out, using the field research procedure, with the application of semi-structured interviews - to managers and multiprofessional team - and a questionnaire with open and closed questions - to students and teachers. Both students and employees showed a lack of knowledge about some of the most peculiar characteristics of sexual harassment in the student-teacher relationship, such as harassment through messaging apps and when it occurs outside school hours and environment. In addition, a booklet on the subject that was developed institutionally and made available on the IFPI website was analyzed, concluding that these points that generated more doubts in the participants were not addressed in it. In order to fill this gap, the booklet resulting from this research was developed with an emphasis on those aspects that proved to be more controversial and in need of disclosure, making use of Visual Law. Visual Law proposes to innovate the communication of Law, making the language more clear, visual and understandable, whether for professionals in the field or for the lay public. As a basis for the work, bibliographic and documentary research was carried out on the role of the educational institution and on sexual harassment. With this, we sought to promote learning and reflection on the subject, in order to avoid new cases of sexual harassment and the training of citizen workers
