Abstract

An evolutionary milestone for human beings to prevent infectious agents were vaccines, capable of revolutionizing the history of public health from the control of infectious diseases, despite all the relevance that immunizers have, fake news about vaccines is disseminated frequently in digital media, influencing a part of the population not to be vaccinated, based on the above, this work aimed to analyze the perception of high school students about the importance of vaccines and their knowledge about the impact of fake news on vaccination. In order to reach the proposed objective, a public opinion survey was carried out from the application of a questionnaire with objective questions to 187 students enrolled in High School of the public teaching network, shortly after the application of the questionnaires, the results were interpreted in graphs for a better understanding. In this way, it was obtained from this research that a considerable part of the students who participated in the research recognize the effectiveness and importance of vaccines for their health and also for the eradication of infectious diseases, in addition, it was mentioned by most students that they had already received news about vaccines and later found out that it was fake news and, therefore, they know people who have already refused to be vaccinated, believing that vaccines can cause disease.
