A literatura de expressão piauiense no contexto do Vestibular IFPI e sua relação com a formação humana integral

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigated Piauí Literary Expression (PLE) within the context of the entrance examination (Vestibular) of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Piauí (IFPI) and its relationship with Integral Human Formation. The research sought to answer the following question: what knowledge do third-year students enrolled in the Integrated High School Program (Ensino Médio Integrado – EMI) at IFPI, Angical Campus, have about Piauí Literary Expression? The general objective was to analyze students' knowledge of Piauí Literary Expression and, more specifically, to understand how they prepare for the IFPI entrance examination, which includes questions on this subject; to characterize the contribution of literature to Integral Human Formation; to examine, based on the legal framework governing Piauí Literary Expression in schools, whether these provisions are incorporated into the EMI curriculum; and to develop an Educational Product to support students and other readers interested in Piauí's literary culture. The research was conducted within the framework of the Professional Master's Degree Program in Professional and Technological Education (PROFEPT), in the Teaching area, under Research Line 1 – Educational Practices in Professional and Technological Education – and Macroproject 1 – Methodological Proposals and Teaching Resources in Formal and Non-formal Educational Settings in Professional and Technological Education. The participants were ten third-year EMI students from IFPI Angical Campus, who took part in semi-structured interviews consisting of open- and closed-ended questions concerning their knowledge of Piauí Literary Expression. Methodologically, the study was characterized as applied field research with a qualitative approach, grounded in the dialectical method and guided by exploratory and descriptive objectives. Content analysis was employed to analyze the collected data. The findings revealed that the participants were unfamiliar with the legislation concerning Piauí Literary Expression in the school context; however, they recognized the importance of literature for their educational development. These findings supported the development of the Educational Product (EP), entitled Guide to Piauí Literary Expression (GOLEP). The guide presents a historical and social overview of literary works representative of Piauí's literary culture and proposes new interpretative approaches based on contemporary contexts. The Educational Product constitutes a research resource intended for students, teachers, and other readers interested in Piauí Literary Expression. It was implemented and evaluated by 35 students from IFPI Teresina Central Campus who did not participate in the research.
