Educação ambiental nas escolas da rede municipal do bairro mocambinho, Teresina – Piauí

Abstract

The present work approaches the Environmental Education and its development in the kinder-garten and elementary school in the municipal schools of the Mocambinho district, North zone of Teresina - PI. Environmental Education is an essential tool in society's daily life, as the world has been undergoing various transformations over time, causing negative impacts on the envi-ronment, so it is necessary for everyone to be aware and reflect on their daily attitudes. And that EA is included both formally and non-formally, so that everyone can work together to protect the environment for present and future generations. Environmental Education is im-portant for the individual to acquire values and change their view of nature, reflecting on the importance of protecting it and everything around it, changing their habits and attitudes. It be-came a public policy (in 1999 with the creation of the PNEA law) and from that law onwards EA became formally compulsory in education networks in view of the law and the need to protect the environment. environment. Within this context, this research aims to analyze the development of EE in schools in the last 20 years, since the creation of the National Policy for Environmental Education (PNEA). And as specific objectives, find out how municipal educa-tion agencies encourage the development of environmental education in schools; know the en-vironmental perception of teachers regarding the environmental issue; identify the strategies used by teachers in the classroom to include the environmental dimension in the curriculum, and show the difficulties that both schools and schools still have on the environmental theme. In the present work, bibliographic and field research were conducted, such as a semi-structured interview with the principals and teachers of the schools that were the object of study, together with officials of the Municipal Secretariat of Education and Culture (SEMEC), in order to achieve results and show the reality in which EA has been developed. EA is the path for the formation of human beings aware of their role in the environment. However, environmental education still faces difficulties, but in the last 20 years it has been more inserted in both formal and non-formal aspects, arousing the reflection of individuals in both schools and communities, making society fundamentally involved and changing its habits, generating results and experi-ences for a more sustainable world in the future.
