Relações sociais e valores humanos: alteridade, empatia e altruísmo na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica e as contribuições da obra literária "A resistência" como formação humana e profissional

Abstract

This research proposal, of a qualitative nature, linked to the Postgraduate Program in Professional and Technological Education, starts from the following guiding question: what do high school students of Professional and Technological Education of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Piauí, campus Teresina Zona Sul, know about the relationship between the values of otherness, empathy and altruism and social relations for their human and professional training? In order to answer this question, the following general objective was established: to investigate what these students know about the relationship between the values of otherness, empathy and altruism and social relations for their human and professional training. And the specific objectives: to discuss the theoretical assumptions of Professional and Technological Education with emphasis on the humanistic, social and omnilateral conception of student training; to promote participants' reflection on the human values of otherness, empathy, and altruism in social relationships; to propose a literary workshop as an educational product based on Ernesto Sabato's book "The resistance". In order to answer the guiding question and to achieve the general and specific objectives, a data collection was carried out, through a semi-structured questionnaire, in December 2022 with the participants of the research. The analyzes took place looking for thematic units in which the similar answers of the 128 research participants could be compared and analyzed jointly. The subsequent analysis of the themes obtained from the questionnaire brings a relationship with the theory and with the conceptions of scholars that underlie this dissertation. This method allowed us to verify the need for a teaching intervention based on the human values of otherness, empathy, and altruism, thinking about the students‟ human and professional training, so that it culminates in more tolerant, respectful relationships and aware that each and every action implies social responsibility. After analyzing the data obtained, thinking about the educational product, a teaching project was carried out entitled “Literary workshop as an educational product of human and professional training of youth in Professional and Technological Education based on the literary work 'The resistance' by Ernesto Sabato”, aimed at research participants so that they could critically reflect on their practices and social interactions at school and at work, allied to the proposal of resistance to social pressures enunciated in the referred work. The development of the teaching project took place in person on the research campus and, as a result, it was found that the literary workshops were quite enlightening regarding the this professional teaching concept and also the purpose of the work with the values of otherness, empathy and altruism to reflect on issues of social interactions and work in terms of the structuring axes of being and life.
