It is clear that most students are more involved, and the traditional teaching method, although it has still made some contribution, is no longer sufficient for the development of teaching and learning, given the challenges of the modern world. Therefore, new work tools have emerged, which meet the content to be studied. This article aims to analyze the metal board as a didactic and creative tool for geometric drawing classes, thus valuing the great importance of this subject that is gradually disappearing from the student's curriculum. Geometric figures are present in our daily lives and wherever we look we notice their shapes and characteristics. But what do we really understand by geometric drawing? Texts by authors such as Marmo (1995) and Costa and Rosa (2015) were fundamental in the construction of this work. The research is exploratory in nature and the results were obtained through interviews, observations and dialogue with a mathematics teacher from the municipal public school system of Piripiri-PI. For this, bibliographical research was carried out that evidenced the loss of space of Geometric Drawing in the national curriculum. The alternatives for changing this reality are found in methodological subsidies that restore the value of Geometric Drawing both for the school curriculum and for society. Valuing the teacher's ability to be creative in approaching this content is essential; the data obtained led us to understand how much the use of this teaching tool facilitates the teaching and learning process.
