Levantamento dos principais acidentes ocorridos com agricultores/as no município de Cocal-PI

Abstract

The advance of technologies is something undeniable in the labor market, and the benefits in the agricultural area are also noticeable. However, in the city of Cocal, in the interior of Piauí, these technological resources are still unknown by many farmers, a fact that increases the incidence of accidents caused by hand tools. From this reality emerged the need to survey the main accidents suffered by farmers in the municipality of Cocal, with the aim of verifying which accidents suffered by workers, quantifying such accidents and verifying the prevalence of health among farmers. To obtain such information, a field research was carried out through a questionnaire with objective and descriptive questions, with this it was possible to verify that 55.3% of the rural workers interviewed had already suffered some type of accident in their agricultural activities such as motorcycle accidents during locomotion, inadequate handling of tools, direct contact with venomous animals, falls and even burns, also reported that the main causes of accidents were lack of attention and non-use of PPE. The study will contribute to guide public policies in the municipality of Cocal, where farmers can reflect on the risks of work accidents, based on this, outline strategies to help formulate preventive actions in the form of lectures and raise awareness farmers about the use of PPE
