Modelagem matemática: uma proposta para o ensino de matemática

Abstract

This study sought to investigate how Mathematical Modeling can present itself as a differentiated and viable proposal for teaching Mathematics in basic education. A teaching method capable of making the student the agent in the construction of knowledge. Overcoming the difficulties that the discipline presents with motivation. The overall objective of this research is to analyze the benefits of Mathematical Modeling as a proposal for teaching Mathematics in Elementary Schools in the municipal education system of Campo Maior-PI. The research is due to a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach. For data collection, the indices related to mathematics learning in the local municipal network were analyzed through an official database, the application of questionnaires, and interviews with the subjects of the research.At the end of the work, a proposal for mathematical modeling was presented.It was possible to identify that the Mathematics teachers recognize the methodology as an effective and significant pedagogical resource for student learning.The data indicates that most students achieve a level of learning considered sufficient for the stage, positioning themselves at the proficient level.The research also shows that through mathematical modeling, the student begins to realize the importance of Mathematics outside the school environment.
