A ASTRONOMIA COMO ALIADA NA ALFABETIZAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA NAS AULAS DE CIÊNCIAS

Abstract

This article aims to analyze, through a qualified literature review, how Astronomy can serve as a powerful and indispensable ally in promoting scientific literacy in Science classes and in articulation with other Basic Education disciplines. The study adopted an essentially qualitative and descriptive approach based on a detailed analysis of ten academic papers published between 2019 and 2024, selected from highly relevant scientific databases such as the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO.br), Latin-American Journal of Astronomy Education (RELEA), and the Journal of Education, Science and Culture (UNILASALLE). The investigated studies unanimously point out that Astronomy in the school context acts as a major promoter of inquiry-based teaching, directly stimulating the development of critical thinking, grounded argumentation, and the continuous awakening of students' interest in daily natural and technological phenomena. It is believed that the systematization and analysis of these studies can motivate new research in the field and encourage educators to seek active and diversified methodologies to fully achieve scientific literacy in schools.
