A importância das práticas preventivas contra as infecções sexualmente transmissíveis com foco em alunos do ensino médio de uma escola pública no município de Baixa Grande do Ribeiro-PI

Abstract

At Sexually Transmissible Infections (STI) are those mainly transmitted sexually.But, there are such infections that can be transmitted by blood transfusion, poor personal hygiene, and still, transmission of the HIV virus causing the AIDS (Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), or of the bacteria that causes syphilis through the placenta. High school adolescents are one of the main focuses of educational actions that emphasize the need to know how to acquire and prevent STI, it's from prevent them, because among the risk factors faced by them stands out: the misinformation, excessive reliance on invulnerability, social and family taboos and information gathering through unqualified person. This work aimed discuss the statistical data on the incidence of STI in the municipality and state where students live, as well as analyze the importance of valuing preventive practices against STI, based on data obtained through a closed questionnaire answered by the target audience. This paper presents a qualitative and quantitative approach, was held at a state school in the municipality of Baixa Grande do Ribeiro – PI, with sample of 30 students, 15 and 15 of the 2nd year of high school, and 15 of the 3rd year of high school, from 16 to 20 years old. The data collection instrument used was a closed questionnaire containing a total of 10 questions, 3 questions requesting personal data and 7 questions regarding the theme in question. Fifteen (50%) students who participated indicated that they have already seen discussions about preventive practices against STI since elementary school. Eleven (37%) stated that the social network is an alternative source of information about the forms of STI transmission and prevention. It was found that the biology teacher has the opportunity to contribute to the valuation of preventive practices by adolescent students, and thus help to reduce the rates of cases of people with STI, either at the municipal or state level, resulting in a better quality of life of these students.
