dc.description.abstract There are several theories that try to explain how the solar system formed, but the most accepted theory today is the solar nebula theory. According to this theory, the solar system began to form from a giant molecular cloud composed mainly of hydrogen and helium, in addition to other elements in smaller quantities. This cloud began to contract under its own gravity, forming a disk-shaped structure known as a protoplanetary disk. In the center of this disk, the temperature and pressure increased enough to initiate nuclear fusion of hydrogen, forming the Sun. At the same time, the heaviest materials in the disk began to clump together into protoplanets, which continued to grow through collisions and gravitational attraction. As the protoplanets grew, they began to attract more material, eventually becoming the solar system planets we know today. During this process, many smaller objects were formed, including asteroids, comets and other celestial bodies. The present study, through a literature review, aims to analyze the formation theories of the solar system.pt_BR
No centro desse disco, a temperatura e a pressão aumentaram o suficiente para iniciar a fusão nuclear do hidrogênio, formando o Sol.
