Produção científica sobre o PIBID na área da biologia: estudo bibliométrico

Abstract

The Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation (PIBID) was created in 2007 and has played a crucial role in preparing future teachers. Knowing that bibliometric analysis is a study method that aims to quantify and analyze scientific production, using statistical and mathematical techniques.And, taking into account the absence of bibliometric studies on PIBID in the area of ​​Biology, this work aimed to conduct a survey of scientific production on the subject in the period from 2007 to 2024. To this end, articles were searched on the CAPES periodicals portal that included the terms PIBID and Biology. Subsequently, the data collected from the 59 articles were organized and processed in MS EXCEL software for presentation in graphs and tables. The analyses revealed that: the first article on PIBID in the area of ​​Biology was published in 2014; The number of publications per year was influenced by the political and economic climate the country was going through and the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic; most of the articles analyzed had a qualitative approach; all the works analyzed followed the pedagogical axis; the vast majority of publications occurred in the southeastern region of the country, and the regions that produced the least were the northern and central-western regions; among the Higher Education Institutions that published on PIBID in the area of ​​Biology, only one was private. The small number of publications observed in the northern and central-western regions allows us to propose studies on the factors that are influencing these results.
