Prospecção científica sobre Leishmaniose visceral na região metropolitana de Teresina/PI no período de 2002-2020

Abstract

This work presents the result of a bibliographic research that aimed to verify what the literature has to present on the theme of Visceral Leishmaniasis in the metropolitan region of Teresina in the period from 2002 to 2020. The analyzed papers (Theses, Dissertations and Articles) were selected from several in the repositories such as BDTD, Scielo and health magazines. We tried to investigate what each research considered about Visceral Leishmaniasis, what were the problems found and their results, with the idea of presenting and informing readers about the latest updates regarding the disease. The methodology employed is of a basic, descriptive and qualitative nature. The analyzed documents were selected after a careful reading that aimed to choose those that dealt with Visceral Leishmaniasis in Teresina within the established period. We consider that after the analyzes, many went to the deficiencies for the elaboration of the research, since the absence of good material resources, as well as the lack of necessary knowledge on the part of the health agencies.
