Caça ilegal de animais silvestres no cerrado piauiense sob a perspectiva de alunos do EJA no município de Uruçuí - PI

Abstract

Brazil has a biodiversity that is often harmed by human actions, and the hunting of wild animals is one of them. This activity has always been present in the culture of rural people and still remains in the daily lives of several communities, generating socio-environmental conflicts. The objective of this work was to analyze the perception of students of Education for Youth and Adults (EJA) in the municipality of Uruçuí, located in the Cerrado Piauiense, about hunting wild fauna in the region. To assess the students' knowledge, questionnaires were used as mediation instruments and the answers obtained results that showed a significant amount of people used to hunting and the existence of more than one hunting profile related, mainly to food. The study showed 27 species of animals mentioned by the students, where mammals appear as the most hunted in the region, as well as presenting the origin of hunting techniques. The lack of Environmental Education by students is evident in the research, and the need to work on curricular components that address this issue in the classroom is essential
