dc.description.abstract The advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded connectivity among devices and the collection of personal data, raising challenges related to security and the protection of user privacy. In this context, this study aims to analyze how the technical limitations of IoT devices influence compliance with the guidelines of the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD). The research is exploratory and descriptive in nature, employing a qualitative approach and conducted through a systematic literature review. The results show that limitations in processing power, memory, and energy consumption hinder the implementation of security mechanisms compatible with the requirements of the legislation. They also demonstrate that solutions such as lightweight communication protocols, lightweight encryption, and security gateways help reduce these limitations, strengthening the protection of personal data and promoting compliance with the LGPD. It is concluded that privacy protection in Internet of Things environments depends both on meeting legal requirements and on adopting technical solutions compatible with the constraints of these devices.pt_BR
