Avaliação das instalações radiológicas nos serviços de tomografia computadorizada que atendem pelo sus na cidade de Teresina-Piauí

Abstract

All CT scanning services should be periodically monitored by the state or municipal Health Surveillance in order to investigate the operation of these radiological installations. These facilities must comply with the norms of Administrative Rule 453/1998 and DRC 50/2002 that deal with the radioprotection and planning of the physical projects of health care establishments. The present study had as objective to evaluate the conditions of the radiological facilities in the services of computed tomography in a health facility, that attend the SUS in the city of Teresina-Piauí, focusing on radioprotection and physical facilities. Data were collected from questionnaires produced by the researcher, based on the main items of Portaria 453/98 and RDC 50/02. In addition, an ionization chamber was used to measure the relative dose rate of the environment during cranial tomography simulations. The results show that most of the establishments are in accordance with the norms foreseen in the physical requirements of radioprotection and dimensional conditions. In the structural and dosimetric conditions questions arise to improve the services surveyed. It is concluded that some establishments analyzed do not comply correctly with the norms foreseen and that the application of periodic maintenance, inspections and care by the workers with tomography, would avoid many negative points found in the research.
