Incidência temporal, espacial e de tendência de fogo no município de Uruçuí-PI

Abstract

Forest fires have emerged as one of the environmental problems that has grown the most in Brazil in recent years, and which has triggered a series of environmental, social, economic and even human losses. The state of Piauí, according to data from INPE (2022), recorded a significant increase in fire outbreaks in the last five years, with emphasis on the municipality of Uruçuí, which leads the ranking of those that burn the most annually. Thus, the research aimed to analyze the spatial arrangement of fire outbreaks in Uruçuí-PI, from 1999 to 2021, seeking to verify the causes of this phenomenon and establish spatial relationships, through the use of geoprocessing and remote sensing tools. With the spatialization and overlapping of data, it was possible to carry out a risk zoning of the municipality and identify that the places with the highest fire occurrence corresponded to soybean cultivation sites, directly relating the incidence of fire in Uruçuí with the strong development of the activity local agricultural.
