Estudo retrospectivo da cobertura vacinal contra febre aftosa em bovinos no município de São Félix do Xingu -PA

Abstract

Foot-and-mouth disease is an infectious disease of viral etiology that affects cloven-hoofed animals. Controlling foot-and-mouth disease includes preventive-prophylactic measures such as, for example, mandatory vaccination of the entire herd of cattle and buffaloes. In the state of Pará, herds are systematically vaccinated following the national calendar. The municipality of São Félix do Xingu, the sixth largest in Brazil in territorial extension, located in the south of the state of Pará, has a herd of 2.5 million cattle, distributed in approximately 4,800 properties registered with the Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará. ADAPT. In this context, the work aims to carry out a retrospective study on the vaccination coverage rates against foot-and-mouth disease in cattle in the municipality of São Félix do Xingu-PA, from 2018 to 2020, and thus compare the data obtained with the indices recommended by the Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Pará-ADEPARA, identifying the efficiency of vaccination coverage in the municipality. The data used were obtained from official agricultural defense agencies, state and municipal, collaborators of the National Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease-PNEFA. It is concluded that, from 2018 to 2020, the percentage rates of vaccination coverage against foot-and-mouth disease in the municipality of São Félix do Xingu-PA were satisfactory, according to the parameters and criteria of PNEFA. Thus, the municipality presented a minimum risk of foot-and-mouth disease with vaccination coverage above 90% in all stages studied
