O uso da inteligência artificial na odontologia: uma análise bibliométrica

Abstract

This paper presents the integration of artificial intelligence in the field of dentistry, analyzing its historical evolution and contemporary practical applications in the face of increasing digitalization in this area of health. In other words, this investigation seeks to evaluate the thematic field in order to answer how artificial intelligence and dentistry have been explored in the current scientific literature. The adopted methodology consists of a bibliometric analysis, with data extracted from the Scopus database and processed using the R Studio statistical programming software, especially through the Bibliometrix package. In total, 96 articles were found and analyzed, during the period from 2001 to 2026. The analysis included checking the productivity of authors, countries, and the evolution of keywords. The results found suggest that the research field is still in the process of consolidation, presenting an average annual growth of 6.65%. Significant opportunities for future research were identified in some areas, such as Forensic Dentistry, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning applied to dental clinical practice.
