dc.description.abstract The main diseases that affect human life are caused by microorganisms such as: fungi and bacteria. Over the years, Science has faced some inconveniences, such as microbiological resistance, which makes the treatment of infectious diseases difficult. In order to formulate drugs more resistant to microbial resistance, it has been used in metallic ions. Given the above, the objective of this work was to synthesize a complex of copper with imidazole, in order to test its microbiological properties. The synthesis of the complex takes place in two stages, in the first stage the cis-[Cu (phen)Cl2] copper precursor was synthesized and the second stage consisted of replacing the chloride ligands by the imidazole ligand updated in the final complex cis- [Cu(Imdz)2(phen)](PF6)2. Through spectroscopy studies in the UV-Vis region, it was found that the basic knowledge of broad, intense and well-defined bands in the visible region, according to which are assigned as charge transfers from metal to binder (MLCT). By UV-vis it is possible to confirm the replacement of chlorides; once there is displacement of the MLCT bands, where the final complex presents a band at a shorter wavelength, as a result of the electronic stability than the final complex obtained with the replacement of chlorides. From the infrared (IR) spectroscopy technique it was possible to identify any complex final band referring to the vibrations of the imidazole ligand and the PF6 counterion. Studies were carried out on the microbiological activity of the complex, where it synthesize activity against the Staphylococus aureus bacteria, responsible for different types of infections. In addition, cytotoxicity tests were carried out against brine shrimp, it does not say toxicity.pt_BR
