Desempenho agronômico de cultivares de algodão no cerrado piauiense

Abstract

There is a prospect of grwth in the cultivated filde with cotton in the cerrado of Piauí, which increases the need to identify promissing genotypes for the region. In view of the above, this study aimed to evaluate the agronomic performance of cotton cultivars under conditions in the Cerrado Piauiense. The experiment was conducted at Fazenda Progresso, in Sebastião Leal - PI, under a randomized block design, with four replications. The plant population varied between cultivars, which corresponded to the ten treatments: DP 1949 B3RF; DP 1857 B3RF; TMG 21 GLTP; TMG 22 GLTP; TMG 31 B3RF; FM 985 GLTP; BRS 600 B3RF; FM 978 GLTP; FM 970 GLTP and DP 1866 B3RF. The variables analyzed were plant height (AP), number of nodes (NN), lost positions (PP), number of reproductive structures (ER), set percentage (PG), boll weight (PC) and productivity (PD). The number of nodes and plant height were similar between genotypes. The cultivars TMG 22 GLTP, DP 1857 B3RF, DP 1866 B3RF and FM 970 GLTP presented the highest number of PP, with the exception of the first, they were also among those that produced the highest number of ER (between 17.5 and 20). For this reason, there was no significant difference regarding PG, whose average was 46%. There was a large variation in PC between cultivars (4.3 to 5.6 g), however, not enough to show a significant difference in relation to productivity, whose average was 341.4@/ha.
