Análise físico-química da água do Parque Ambiental Lagoa do Bebedouro em Parnaíba - Piauí

Abstract

The earth has two thirds of its surface covered by water, there are – approximately – 360 millions km² from a total of 510M, however, 98% of the waters available are salted. Due to the disordered urban growth, the environment is increasingly being affected by negative situations, resulting in the various types of environmental problems produced by humans, which present themselves in a cascade effect, mainly, in the areas of permanent preservation. This work aimed to evaluate the water quality from – in specific spots of – the Environmental Park Bebedouro Lagoon, which is within the urban area of Parnaíba-PI city. In order to do that, water samples from three determined points were analyzed, the evaluated parameters were: pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide; Total solids; Dissolved total solids, chloride ions, total alkalinity and hardness. The obtained results were compared with the CONAMA 357/2005 resolution also with the literature of water bodies. The data showed to be within the required standards, but TS and SDT showed that P1 and P3 exceeded the established threshold. Therefore, it’s valid to stress the study continuity, aiming for a publication in the environmental area, by collecting – in the same spots of the park – new samples in the rainy season. With the publication of this work is intended to raise awareness of the population in order to improve the conservation of the lagoon. In the sooner future may be adopted some measures to mitigate the possibility of contamination, such as: regular cleaning of surrounding areas and greater effectiveness in the inspection against illegal effluent pipes
