Construção de cartilha educativa para a prevenção de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (IST)

Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are caused by more than 30 etiological agents, being the main form of transmission through sexual contact and, eventually, via blood and vertical transmission that can occur through childbirth or breastfeeding. even nowadays, it is possible to observe that there is a deficit in knowledge when referring to STIs, especially among adolescents, because although they are aware that condom use is the main means to prevent the spread of STIs, they do not use it because they believe that inhibits sexual pleasure. The booklets are classified as “light-hard” educational technology, technology that uses structured knowledge such as theories, models of care. The use of teaching materials can be one of the facilitating instruments in the communication and interaction between the educator and the student in the construction of awareness and knowledge. This work aimed to build and validate an educational booklet to inform, encourage self-care and prevention against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Qualitative and methodological research was carried out through evaluation questionnaires after reading the booklet.
