DIFICULDADES NO ENSINO DE MATEMÁTICA NA EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS – EJA NO CONTEXTO DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19

Abstract

The present work is the result of a bibliographic research on the difficulties of teaching Mathematics in Adult and Youth Education (EJA) during the pandemic. The selection of data was made through bibliographic sources located in the SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and GOOGLE SCHOLAR databases. The inclusion criteria were articles and theses published in Portuguese, between 2020 and 2021, that addressed the difficulties of teaching Mathematics in EJA during the pandemic period. The aim of this study is to understand how EJA teachers develop the teaching of Mathematics in light of the reality of their students during the pandemic. It is observed that some EJA students are determined to learn, either due to the need for human development and/or for work purposes. This fact certainly contributes to the need for a specific approach to this audience from the working class, who, even facing Covid-19, continue to work daily to support their families, hoping to achieve a better quality of life through the advancement of their education. The results of this research suggest that the Covid-19 pandemic intensified inequalities in access to digital tools but also led to the professional development of teachers, providing new learning opportunities into the pedagogical process.
