A potencialidade do uso de materiais concretos no ensino de fórmulas matemáticas no ensino básico

Abstract

The math formulas are not necessarily interesting for students, as they are presented promptly and inflexibly without any demonstration and correlation with their everyday life, which is an aggravating factor in math teaching. Given the attention that this topic requires, this study aimed to analyze articles and dissertations whose object of study are concrete materials, while searching to discover the contribution(s) of the use of these resources in the teaching of mathematical formulas in basic education, in order to identify the relevance given to this theme in scientific research and to contribute to the studies of methodologies for teaching formulas, based on an integrative literature analysis, whose search was carried out in the databases of journals Google Academic and Periodical Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Staff (CAPES), with a time frame from 2005-2020. At the end of the search, only six works were selected, whose analysis indicated that the use of concrete materials in teaching formulas significantly contributes to the contextualization process and, consequently, to the understanding of this content.
