Uma abordagem à educação financeira com alunos do 6º ano

Abstract

The present work aims to elucidate the importance of the approach of Financial Education in schools and to identify the previous knowledge of the 6th year students of the José Basson School Unit, located in Cocal-PI. Financial education is something that can be considered new for the majority of the population, however it is a topic that deserves to be highlighted since it directly influences the economic decisions of individuals and families. In this way, this study took place through a bibliographic research on the subject and a field research, divided into two moments, in which two contextualized activities were applied, a basic activity on the formation of amounts of money and a simulation of purchases. In a supermarket, where they had to decide between price and quality. With the application of these, it was concluded that financial education is something far from the reality of the children participating in the research. This fact is understandable, given the age range of the students. But this reality can and must be changed, and the incentive in the school environment is of paramount importance, as it was possible to perceive that, with the right stimulus, students can have good results, planning better the use of money, making better choices and saving
