O papel dos professores de pedagogia e de matemática no decorrer do ensino fundamental I e II em Cocal-PI

Abstract

This study intended to analyze and describe some of the factors that lead elementary school students to perform poorly in learning mathematics, in addition to losing interest in this discipline. We investigated the factors that demonstrate that many of them have not become get used, over the school years, to using their creative ability when they see problems and simple situations in the area of Mathematics in the classroom and, consequently, end up developing a deficiency in the mathematical reasoning and even in other disciplines that require intuition and interpretation, as well as greater difficulty in seeing the formal mathematical knowledge applied in practice, that is, in everyday life with the passing of school years. For this, it was discussed through questionnaires and interviews with teachers of Pedagogy and Mathematics about the role of the teacher in the educational environment in the municipality of Cocal-PI, in the development and use of school resources, as well as the staff of teachers and their work environments, methodologies they use and what their views and positions are in the face of new perspectives in teaching, thus demonstrating that the educator has in his hands the possibility of mediating, in an efficient manner, the relationship between student and knowledge.
