Ensinando cadeia alimentar: metodologias utilizadas por docentes da educação básica

Abstract

Teaching Science is still a challenge for teachers and students, especially when it comes to relating the theory developed in the classroom with the reality of everyday life. Teaching the Food Chain is not usually a simple subject to be tought in the classroom, as it involves a complex scheme of intersecting food relationships and becomes something abstract if there are no illustrative ways of developing the subject. In light of this, the work aims to investigate how the content of Food Chain has been tought by different teachers from public and private schools in the city of Parnaíba - PI in different age groups within the Ecology unit. A questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were applied to teachers from public and private schools, involved in regular education and other teaching modalities. With the results, it was possible to understand the professional profile of these teachers, their methodology, their perception of methodological resources, their main difficulties in the teaching and learning process and the strategies used to resolve such difficulties within the content. With this, it is concluded that innovative practices within the Food Chain content are essential for students to learn better. Moreover, the teaching and learning process becomes more dynamic and attractive.
