Abstract

This work presents a reflection on the inclusion of students with special needs in regular education. The choice of theme is justified because it is an issue that has been gaining more and more space in educational debates, which is why there was a need to value and bring this topic to discussion. To answer this question, the present work has the general objective of pointing out the challenges in the practice of inclusive education and its impacts on the process of socialization and integration of students with physical disabilities based on a theoretical framework and a study in which an observation was carried out in a school school in the Municipality of Corrente Piauí, Orley Cavalcante School. Specific objectives: conceptualize the typology of physical disability and the historical and social aspects; verify with the student in a wheelchair the challenges faced by Escola Municipal Orley Cavalcante; propose alternative measures of social and pedagogical accessibility for the inclusion of students with physical disabilities. As for the methodology of this research, it is a field study with a qualitative and qualitative approach with a bibliographical survey, guided by the investigation and analysis of theoretical material and documents that deal with the school inclusion of students with physical disabilities. As a data collection technique, observation was used to ascertain the level of accessibility of the wheelchair user at the municipal school Orlei Cavalcante. A survey was carried out on the level of accessibility through a questionnaire applied to a student in a wheelchair at the researched school. The results of this research showed that there are several problems that need to be faced for the effectiveness of school inclusion. do not feel harmed. The school and members of this institution must be prepared to deal with these students.
