Desenho geométrico: ainda pode ser uma disciplina obrigatória e autônoma?

Abstract

This work aimed to evaluate, through a purely bibliographic and documentary research, if the subject of Geometric Design can still be an autonomous and mandatory subject. For this, we verified the possible factors that led to the weakening of the discipline of Geometric Design within the Brazilian teachinglearning process. We tried to identify if there were consequences of the absence of discipline in the teaching of Geometry and consequently of mathematics. In addition, we analyzed whether dynamic geometry programs contributed to the decrease in the discipline of Geometric Design in Brazilian basic education. consequences of this discipline is no longer mandatory, based on some data related to Enem and other research sources. In view of this, it was verified that there was not a decisive reason, but a combination of factors that contributed to the partial or total disappearance of the Discipline of Geometric Design in some elementary schools, which its absence implied mainly in the teaching of Flat Geometry, both for teachers and students, and we found that the softwares did not influence the decrease of the Discipline, but in the hand drawing with drawing instruments. This imposes the observation that the Discipline of Geometric Design is able to again become a mandatory discipline, considering its importance within teaching and the factors that contribute to its resumption of curricula in Brazilian basic education.
