Abordagem da álgebra em uma coleção de livros didáticos de matemática no ensino fundamental

Abstract

This study investigated how algebraic content is presented in textbooks for the final years of elementary school. The main objective of this study was to analyze the algebraic language addressed in textbooks available in the municipal school system of the city of Uruçuí-Piauí. To this end, observations were made of the distribution of the thematic unit “algebra” in the summaries, investigations of the clarity of the algebraic language and the variety of resources presented in the textbooks. The research was conducted by applying some criteria for analyzing the books, whose data were interpreted considering the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The results showed some gaps in the collection analyzed, compromising some BNCC skills, among them the superficial discussion of some essential topics for the understanding of algebraic language. It is concluded that in future editions, the collection analyzed will require adjustments and revisions that are in accordance with the skills described in the BNCC
