A química dos chás: uma abordagem contextualizada no ensino de funções orgânicas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to apply a didactic sequence on the theme "teas" to enable students to learn organic functions contextualized with their previous knowledge. The research was carried out with students of the 3rd year of high school at the Antônio Cavalcanti Filho State School in Afrânio-PE, the methodology employed the three pedagogical moments: initial problematization, organization and application of knowledge. Initially, an initial questionnaire explored the students' previous knowledge about "Teas" and Organic Chemistry, here the students were asked to carry out research on the subject in groups. A second class addressed the historical importance of teas, active ingredients, extraction, risks, and benefits. In the third class, the basic concepts of Organic Chemistry were reviewed, as well as the study of functional groups. In the fourth class, an experimental class was carried out that identified the organic functions present in tea samples. Finally, in the fifth class, the research was socialized, and a final comparative questionnaire was applied, which showed a significant improvement in the understanding of the theme and in the two questions of organic functions, with an average increase of 43% of correct answers. These results highlight the positive impact of the didactic sequence, providing students with more meaningful and dynamic learning.
