dc.description.abstract The theory of Biological Evolution is currently the most accepted to explain the origin of biodiversity in natural ecosystems and the richness of phenotypic traits characteristic of organisms that have been diversifying over generations. Despite such importance, some biology teachers still face difficulties in understanding perceptions and definitions of the theory of evolution, due to problems related to factors such as: confusing information conveyed by digital media, the inappropriate use of didactic material in the school environment and a training deficient teacher, which makes it difficult to understand and disseminate the evolutionary theme. Therefore, this study started from the following problem: What theoretical perceptions about Biological Evolution do undergraduates have in the initial and final modules of the Biological Sciences course? This study aimed to comparatively analyze the theoretical perceptions about the biological evolution of undergraduates in Biological Sciences in the initial and final modules of the course, using a questionnaire with a set of 8 statements, where the respondent could indicate agreement or disagreement. Most of the students expressed belief in the evidence of biological evolution as a factor for the diversity of life present on our planet, revealing the importance of the disciplines of the degree course in Biological Sciences. On the other hand, there was a significant number of students who, even in the final modules of the biological sciences course, still disagree or do not have an opinion on the subject.pt_BR
