Relevância do ensino de ciências nas séries iniciais

Abstract

The focus of this work was to discuss the importance of science education from the early years of elementary school. The research about why and why to teach science was the guiding principle of this work. The methodology used was the bibliographic research, it was also sought subsidies in legal documents such as the National Curriculum Parameters. Based on the researched authors, it is argued that having access to scientific and technological education is a right of all and that its teaching can contribute to the intellectual development of children, helping the learning of other areas. What, after all, is the importance of scientific knowledge for the lives of students? What are the aspects that should be emphasized when teaching Natural Sciences? How should schools and people act in the face of the development of current science and technology? It is also understood that the teaching of science should contribute to citizenship practices and equipping students for responsible actions in their social environment. From this perspective, it is essential to have a consistent and continuous teacher training, combined with a collective culture between the school and peers, with commitments to the realization of quality science teaching.
