Abstract

In short, the difficulties in the teaching learning process of mathematics in the 6th grade of elementary school in U. E. Chico Monção in the city of Cocal-Pi, in which they interfere directly in the learning process, besides influencing the development and the reasoning ability of the students, Since the study of mathematics is very complex, generating fear in the students, the teacher must conduct his or her classes in a meaningful way, facilitating learning, because each student absorbs knowledge according to his or her ability, and mathematical knowledge is essential for daily tasks. The research aimed to point out the difficulties faced by students in relation to teaching and learning mathematics. Through the study of the questioning carried out with the students in the class, it was possible to identify some factors that interfere with their performance, describing elements that hinder the learner’s performance, affecting the quality of the study. Using recent and efficient mechanisms as means to stimulate learning can be satisfactory for the development of reasoning ability
