Avaliação da produção de serviços ambientais dos sistemas agroflorestais (SAFS) do município de Teresina - Piauí

Abstract

Man's actions on ecosystems and natural environments have caused a series of problems. When these actions are taken into consideration in the agricultural environment, several environmental problems surrounding this activity can be highlighted, such as the detriment of forests and riparian forests. Faced with all the environmental problems facing conventional agricultural practices, agroforestry systems (AFSs) emerged, which are understood as less ecologically aggressive systems compared to conventional and large-scale agriculture. In this sense, this work aims to highlight the importance of the production of environmental services, characterize and highlight the lack of regulation of SAFs in the municipality of Teresina, Piauí (latitude 05° 05' 21” S and longitude 42° 48' 07” W ) three AFSs were selected at different stages of implementation. The results highlight the lack of legal regulation and incentives for family farming and agroforestry production in the capital of Piauí, in addition to the high level of conservation and production of environmental services in the agroforests studied, highlighting the capture of carbon in the soil and the high quality soil environment of the selected AFSs.
