A matemática na educação de jovens e adultos: A importância do ensino e aprendizagem

Abstract

This work seeks to analyze the importance of mathematical education in Youth and Adult Education at the CETI Deputado Pinheiro Machado school in the city of Cocal, state of Piauí, and analyze how this type of teaching is seen in the perception of the teacher and student, thus verifying the practice pedagogical and student interest. Because it is an education aimed at people of different ages, it is necessary to better understand the reality of teaching and learning and try to understand how students and teachers view this education. The research was carried out through observations in classrooms at the aforementioned school and questionnaires were also administered to teachers and students to obtain more information and thus have a more accurate survey. This research aims to analyze how the education of young people and adults is seen in the perception of teachers and students, identify whether learning is being beneficial and understand how teaching works to find out whether dropouts occur. The mathematics subject is seen as one of the most difficult by EJA students, many students reported not liking it, and there is a clear lack of interest on the part of students. It is also very challenging for the teacher to be able to teach all the subjects in the curriculum in a short period of time. This study demonstrates the importance for new research to be carried out in the area so that the EJA modality is truly egalitarian and not seen with a different perspective from other modalities
